Arizona branch party representatives returned to Taiwan to attend

The 19th National Congress of the Chinese Kuomintang was held at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in Taipei on July 19. The top agenda of the conference was to approve Hong Xiuzhu's candidacy for the party's nomination as the 14th President of the Republic of China. Arizona branch party representative Wang Wei, member of the Standing Committee, returned to Taiwan to attend the meeting. According to the order of the chairman's drawing of lots, No. 3 spoke, expressing his loyal support for the country and the Kuomintang, and his absolute support for Hong Xiuzhu's candidacy for president. At the meeting, I felt the high morale within the party, Hong Xiuzhu’s courage to take on the responsibility, and his firm stance to safeguard national dignity and maintain cross-strait peace. In his nomination speech, Hong Xiuzhu reiterated "unity and responsibility" to lead the country on the road of peace, openness, equal wealth and morality; to find the faith values of honesty, respect, tolerance and compassion; to use vision, foresight and practical ability to formulate policies for Taiwan's sustainable development, based on locality, weighing cross-strait considerations, and integrating with the international community. Future cross-Strait policies will be based on the Kuomintang's party platform, and the 1992 Consensus and one China, each with separate representations will be the most important core values for the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations. A democratic political party, with different voices and diverse opinions, is the beginning of gathering new strength. The Kuomintang's rule is to establish a society under the rule of law that listens, is tolerant, distinguishes right from wrong, and upholds morality. We must use empathy and responsibility to achieve justice and fairness across generations, rich and poor, and ethnic groups, and embrace a hopeful future.
