Dr. Zheng Zhiping, professor and deputy director of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Arizona, was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in March this year due to his outstanding contributions to the development of chemical science. The British Times will publish a list of new members including Teacher Zheng in the near future. We warmly congratulate Teacher Zheng for receiving this honor. Zheng Zhiping received his bachelor's degree from Peking University in China in 1987 and his master's degree from Peking University in 1990. Obtained a doctorate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1995. From 1995 to 1997, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University in the United States. Professor Zheng Zhiping is an internationally renowned scholar in the field of inorganic synthesis and materials chemistry. He is committed to the design and synthesis of functional coordination compounds, research on their optical, electrical, magnetic, catalytic and other properties, as well as their material applications. He has achieved a number of important results in the fields of basic research and applied chemistry of rare earth metals and transition element cluster compounds. Professor Zheng Zhiping is a candidate for the "Thousand Talents Program Scholar" of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He is currently a visiting professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University and a concurrently appointed professor at Liaoning Petrochemical University.
