(Contributed by Alberta Modern Chinese School) On March 31, 2018, Dr. Mark Page, a famous ophthalmologist in Alberta, came to ASU The Alberta Modern Chinese School on the main campus in Tempe held a unique lecture on eye protection for students and parents. After watching the "Screenagers" video, more than 60 students and parents gained a deeper understanding of the damage caused by blue light from computers and mobile phones to their eyes. Students and parents learned a lot of knowledge that cannot be learned in books through the questions and answers with Dr. Page, and deeply felt the importance of protecting their eyes.
Dr. Page is an old friend of the Alberta Modern Chinese School. He has sponsored the "CCSA Golf Fundraising Tournament" as the main sponsor many times. This time, he volunteered to come to our school to hold a special lecture on eye protection. Thanks to Dr. Page for organizing this wonderful lecture for us. Thank you to students and parents for your participation and support. Thanks to Wang Yulan, Tao Shicheng, Tian Shaowei, Allan Yang, Zhao Tao, Pennie Zeng, Miao Yuliang, Peng Kai, Fannie Tam and other volunteers for their efforts in organizing this special lecture.
>Alberta Modern Chinese School not only has a team composed of many selfless volunteers, but also has a team composed of many outstanding teachers who give their best. While they usually teach, they pay more attention to educating people. Through the student union, the school often organizes students to use their weekend breaks to volunteer at local charities, so that children can understand the meaning of participating in and giving back to the community from an early age. In the 2017-2018 school year, Dr. Page supported the "PAGE Scholarships" special scholarships established by the Alberta Modern Chinese School to commend and support high school students who have voluntarily served the Alberta Modern Chinese School, actively participated in the community, and registered at the Alberta Modern Chinese School. Thanks to Dr. Page for supporting the “AGE Scholarships” special scholarship established by the Modern Chinese School in Alberta. For more details, please visit the Alberta Modern Chinese School website www.ccsarizona.org. In one month, the school year is coming to an end. Here, Chairman Tao Shicheng and Principal Wang Yulan sincerely thank the teachers for their hard work, the volunteers’ dedication, the parents’ support, and the community’s care!
