[News from this newspaper] On December 5th, at 5:30 pm, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce held its 2018 holiday party at the RottN?nbsp;Grapes restaurant in downtown Phoenix. Nearly thirty friends attended the party, of which 7 non-members joined the party team of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, allowing more fresh blood to join this one of the oldest societies in Arizona. Lawyer Wu Zhaowen, the president, presided over the entire event.
Holiday gatherings are a daily activity of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Such gatherings provide opportunities for Chinese small and medium-sized owners to communicate and learn from each other, share resources, and establish connections. That night, the organizer prepared sumptuous food for the guests, and also asked everyone to put their business cards together and held a small lottery. Through games, friends can also get to know each other. Friends participating in the event came from all walks of life, including lawyers, professors, engineers, accountants, doctors, real estate managers, community service personnel, media and so on. Everyone shared delicious food and chatted easily. Some friends said that business during this year's holiday season was better than in previous years, and that the original off-season business was no longer slow. They gave examples of several big customers they met during the holiday season. It seems that Phoenix's economy is booming. An accountant friend said that Chinese Americans are very interested in real estate investment. Recently, she was preparing a lecture to introduce the impact of the new tax law on real estate. The guests at the scene were very interested and hoped to hear this lecture in Phoenix. A doctor of psychiatry who went to San Diego to apply for scientific research funds told everyone about some novel experiences he had after going to work in California, and also compared the differences between California and Arizona in the field of scientific research. The person in charge of China Week, who has served the community for many years, introduced the activities in 2019. The sub-contest will be the highlight. It is an activity full of Chinese characteristics and is very popular at China Week every year. The Alberta Spring Festival Gala will also be held at the Mesa Art Center on January 12. The person in charge of the event also brought promotional materials for the gala to everyone. The Spring Festival Gala has become a brand among local Chinese and has been welcomed by friends from China and the United States. Tickets are now on sale.
From 5:30 to 9 o'clock in the evening, old and new friends had a great time chatting with each other. During the gathering, President Wu Zhaowen also revealed a little secret. By April 2019, his second term will end, and Li Jiang will be elected as the next president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce was established in 1939 and will celebrate its 80th anniversary next year. The 2019 80th anniversary New Year party will be held in early April. New and old friends from the overseas Chinese community are welcome to attend the grand event.
