The new semester begins, Hope Chinese School welcomes more than 300 students (photo) On the afternoon of January 7, 2012, the spring semester of Hope Chinese School started at Mesa Community College. More than 300 students came to school as scheduled to start learning Chinese and talent. Children in the Chinese class actively raised their hands to answer questions. The registration office was still very full at 2pm. Parents came to register and pay their children. Some volunteers also began to coordinate various school work, and they were all in place. Principal Zhao Caihong was busy solving various problems for the teachers about the start of the school year. The Chinese class has started in the classroom in an orderly manner. The teachers used standard Chinese and asked the students about interesting things about the holidays. The students also raised their hands high to speak and interacted with the Chinese teacher. The painting teacher turned the first day of school into a work exhibition, pasting together students' works from last year for parents and classmates who came to class to appreciate. Student Works Exhibition The children in the children's dance class hurriedly practiced the dances they were learning because they were about to participate in performances when the traditional Chinese Spring Festival was approaching. Dance class students are rehearsing. In the new semester, the school has added new courses such as sketching, coloring, Zumba, and hip-hop to the talent class. What makes the students even more excited is that the school has also formed a youth band. According to teacher Xie Xiaohong, the head of the talent group, the youth band was formed under the leadership of teacher Cai Shangao. During the traditional Chinese Spring Festival, the youth band has accepted the invitation from the community and will bring wonderful performances to everyone. The new semester has begun again, and so has the new year. I wish the students can learn more knowledge and talents, and I also wish that overseas Chinese schools can become more prosperous!
