An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 hit Winslow, Arizona on Sunday (Alberta Times) The United States Geological Survey reported that a magnitude 3.1 earthquake hit Winslow, Arizona on Sunday. A magnitude 3.1 earthquake. The quake struck at 12:11 p.m., about 21 miles southwest of Cloud Silk Road and about 113 miles northeast of Phoenix, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. With the epicenter at a depth of more than 3 miles above the surface, the earthquake was relatively shallow. Google Earth shows small dormant volcanoes emerging between the epicenters. The epicenter was in the south between the Colorado Plateau and the Mogolan Mountains. Google Earth also shows meteorite clusters not far from the epicenter. Meteor Crater is one of the most famous meteorite impact craters on the planet, located 20 miles west of Cloud Silk Road.
