27 animals kept in private house cleared and fined (Alberta Times) Arizona SPCA officers removed 27 animals of different species from a house in Scottsdale on Tuesday morning, and the homeowner may face animal hoarding fines. Officers responding to a dispute between a homeowner and her estranged husband on Monday night discovered a large number of animals living in deplorable conditions, with feces and urine strewn throughout the house and a foul smell. Officers notified the Fire Department, who removed the animals from the house Tuesday morning after dispatching crews to assess the family's living conditions. The 27 animals were mostly small dogs, but also included some snakes and turtles. Police have not released the name of the homeowner, but she faces charges of neglect and animal cruelty.
