Computex Taipei facilitated nearly US$25 billion in orders. The five-day Computex Taipei 2011 concluded on the 4th. The exhibition attracted approximately 36,000 buyers from 162 countries and regions, an increase of 3.1% over last year. The exhibition has generated orders worth nearly US$25 billion (including purchase intentions). Hong Mingqin, head of exhibition affairs at the Taiwan Foreign Trade Development Association, the organizer of the exhibition, said that the popular purchasing items at this year’s exhibition are tablet computers and related products. In addition, smartphones, e-books, 3D technology and cloud services are also favored by buyers. Hong Mingqin believes that the biggest highlight of this exhibition is that the degree of internationalization has greatly increased, and more internationally renowned large companies will release new products or hold report meetings and seminars at the exhibition. In addition, many latest products appeared at this exhibition. It is understood that the top five buyer regions of this exhibition are the United States, Japan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Compared with similar international exhibitions, the number of international buyers at Computex Taipei ranks second in the world and first in Asia. A total of 1,800 manufacturers set up 5,300 booths at this exhibition, an increase of 9% over last year.
