According to CITYLAB, using the U.S. Census Bureau's 2014 American Community Survey and its own data on median house prices and median monthly rents, Trulia research found that nationwide, young people aged 25-34 save 23% more on buying a house than renting.

Buying a home is cheaper than renting in 98 of the nation's 100 largest real estate markets, although home prices vary widely across metropolitan areas.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are the biggest family holidays for Americans every year. Few people are willing to move at this time. It is the off-season for "data", but it is also the golden season for many immigrants to buy their own homes and invest in real estate.
