At 6:00 pm on January 23, 2015, the Arizona Republican Party Chairman Award Dinner was held at the Sheraton Hotel. Compared with all the mainstream political events that journalists have attended in the past six years, this one offers a welcome and exciting sight. At the Republican awards dinner, nearly a quarter of the faces were Asian. What slowly changed all this was the joint efforts of the Asian community. That night, Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert S. Graham awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award to former Arizona Chinese Representative Barry Wong.

There were so many Asian faces present at the awards dinner, which were of course directly related to Huang Shijun. Huang Shijun told reporters that in recent years, he has been committed to developing Republican Party members in the Asian community, establishing basic party organizations in the community, and letting more people understand the Republican Party. He always encourages friends who care about politics to join party activities. We have seen very active overseas Chinese leaders among Asians. For example, Chinese-American Michelle Chang, Chinese-American Sam Huang, Vietnamese-American Kevin Dang, Korean-American Jae Chin, Filipino-American Marie Cuning, Vietnamese-American MaiLe, Indian-American Venkat Kommineni, Asian-American Einesh’Dan ‘Rama, Asian-American Astria Wong, etc.
Some of the Asian supporters who congratulated Huang Shijun were Qiu Shunxiong and his wife of the Chinese Federation, Zhang Huafang, president of the Chinese Restaurant Association, David Yee, chairman of the Overseas Chinese Federation, Lu Lihua and his wife, principal of the Arizona Art School, Cui Zengqi, vice chairman of the Overseas Chinese Federation, and many overseas Chinese leaders from the Chinese community attended the event. There was also an episode during the commendation dinner. A participant suddenly felt unwell and fainted. Chairman Robert Graham stopped everything he was doing, stayed by the patient's side personally, and called 911 to await rescue. The scene was also quite orderly, with more than 400 people quickly setting aside emergency lanes to assist the police with rescue operations.
On-site rescue scene (the third person from the left in a blue suit is Chairman Robert Graham) The commendation meeting was lively and orderly, allowing non-partisan people at the scene to see a more real side of the Republican Party. On November 4, 2014, the Arizona Republican Party captured 8 state government seats and also achieved very good results in the House of Representatives and the Senate. In order to commend the Republican Party members who performed outstandingly during the election process, Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham held this event with great solemnity.
