Police arrested 241 suspects related to drug smuggling in Tucson during a two-week sweep along Interstate 10 in the western mountains. A total of seven units participated in Operation Silver Bell, including Border Patrol, Transit Police, Oro Valley Police, Marana Police Department, Pima County Sheriff's Office, Immigration, Gila River Police, and Eli Police. Focus on searching Silver Bell and the Sawtooth Mountains to find smuggling channels and disrupt transnational criminal organizations. As of February 11, the joint operation had arrested 241 people and seized nearly 4,000 pounds of marijuana, 19 vehicles, and 5 weapons.
