The "6.6" catastrophic flood occurred in Wangmo County, Guizhou. As of the press release at 20:30 on the evening of the 7th, according to statistics, 21 people were killed, 31 people were missing, and direct economic losses were about 1.34 billion yuan.
At 18:30 on the 7th, Wangmo County held a press briefing. Nong Wenhai, deputy head of Wangmo County, said that according to the latest statistics, as of 14:00 on June 7, the county's disaster-stricken population was 80,000, and 45,380 people had to be evacuated urgently, including 42,000 relatives and friends, and 3,380 people renting houses; 21 people died and 31 were missing.
Nong Wenhai explained that among the 52 missing persons originally counted, some were visiting relatives in other villages or working outside. After investigation and verification in each township, 14 people had been found.
According to incomplete statistics, the flood caused a total direct economic loss of approximately 1.34 billion yuan.
