Taiwan-American Chamber of Commerce in Greater Phoenix 2018 Spring Banquet to Celebrate the Lantern Festival with the Golden Dog. The Taiwan-American Chamber of Commerce in Greater Phoenix held its 2018 New Year Dinner at Fengcheng Seafood Restaurant at 6 pm on Saturday, March 3, to welcome the Year of the Golden Dog and celebrate the Lantern Festival with mainstream political and business celebrities in Greater Phoenix and Taiwanese overseas Chinese. The evening party started with a lively presentation of auspicious lions. Zhang Shengyi, President of the Taiwan-American Chamber of Commerce in Daluohuang City, took the lead in introducing the history and activities of the Chamber of Commerce to the guests on behalf of all the directors and supervisors of the Chamber of Commerce. He is committed to promoting national diplomacy, cultivating young businessmen and matching business opportunities. He also wishes everyone good luck in the Year of the Dog and good luck. U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar served as the keynote speaker at this spring banquet. He shared with the guests the impact of Trump’s tax reform on small and medium-sized enterprises and wished everyone a happy New Year. Arizona Governor Dough Doucey specially awarded the Proclamation to the Taiwan American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei City on behalf of Barry Wong, CEO of the Office of Diversity and Equality, which is designated as the Lunar New Year. The founding president Shi Ying, former president Zhang Qingling, Chen Mingjing and president Zhang Shengyi accepted the congratulatory certificate. In her speech, Chandler Deputy Mayor Nora Ellen particularly praised the Chamber of Commerce for its contribution in promoting ethnic exchanges and business opportunities and wished everyone a happy New Year. During the dinner, Xiao Shiying, the founding president of the Chamber of Commerce, presented the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Chamber of Commerce to Zhang Qingling, the recently retired former president of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee. On behalf of all the directors and supervisors of the Chamber of Commerce, he paid the highest respect to Honorary President Zhang Qingling and thanked Zhang Qing. In the 19-year history of the Chamber of Commerce, Ling served as president for three terms and devoted herself to the affairs of the association for more than ten years. Her selfless dedication has allowed her to develop to this day. Zhang Qingling, the permanent honorary president, also made a speech. All the guests present stood up and applauded, and she was well-deserved. For this dinner, the Youth Business Department was responsible for arranging various dance and singing performances. The performances were performed by the Xiangsong Orchestra, the ASU Taiwan Alumni Association, and Taiwan Goodwill Ambassador Li Lingyu.
