(Contributed by UCAA, Alberta) The 9th "Phoenix Night" celebration of the 66th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China National Day reception, "Phoenix Night" dinner and reunion dance series to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival will be held grandly at C-Fu Gourmet on Saturday, September 12, 2015. In order to prepare for this event, Li Jian, president of the Hualian Federation of Alberta, held the second preparatory meeting on August 2. President Li Jian first expressed his heartfelt thanks to everyone for their selfless dedication to Chinese community activities and wished the series of celebrations a complete success. At the same time, he introduced to everyone the overall planning and latest progress of the series of activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day. According to the meeting agenda, the person in charge of each activity reported the preparation status of various tasks to the participants. Fei Jian and Wang Weizi explained the specific matters of the National Day reception to the participants and introduced the implementation of the performances by local artists. Da Zhao and Rong Qinjin explained to everyone the latest progress of the "Phoenix Night" dinner venue and food arrangements. The organizing committee would like to express special thanks to Zhu Yan for his hard work during the hot summer days when he traveled to and from the hotel several times to finalize the dinner menu. Dong Bin reported to everyone the preparations for the Mid-Autumn Festival Dance, and called on everyone to actively invite relatives and friends to participate in the large-scale Mid-Autumn Festival Dance held at C-Fu Gourmet on the evening of September 12th. There are all kinds of dance music such as waltz, tango, rumba, etc., just waiting for you to show off your dancing skills and share the fun. The new principal of the Alberta Modern Chinese School, Jim Xi, and the director of the Alberta Hope Chinese School expressed their strong support for this "Phoenix Night" series of celebrations. Currently, the implementation of VIP invitations and preparations for the National Day reception are also in progress. The specific series of celebration activities are arranged as follows: 1) 5:00 – 6:00 PM: Sign-in, C-Fu Gourmet front lobby (southwest corner of Dobson/Warner) 2) 6:00 – 8:00 PM: National Day reception/artistic performance/dinner, C-Fu Gourmet dining hall 3) 8:00 – 10:00 PM: Mid-Autumn Festival Dance, C-Fu Gourmet dining hall This large-scale series of "Phoenix Night" celebrations is hosted by the Chinese Overseas Chinese Association of Alberta (UCAA), and co-organized by the Federation of Chinese Overseas Chinese Associations in Greater Phoenix, Alberta Modern Chinese School, Alberta Hope Chinese School, Arizona State University Chinese Students and Scholars Association, and the Alberta Chinese Anti-Fascist and Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Anti-Japanese War Organizing Committee. Everyone is welcome to wear formal attire to attend the National Day reception to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the "Phoenix Night" dinner and the Mid-Autumn Festival reunion dance to be held on Saturday, September 12th.
