November 9, 2014 Auckland City Tour (Auckland) In the morning, Zhong Kai’s classmate Wang Xiaojian came to pick us up to visit Auckland. Driving from the east of the city to the center of the city, passing through the bay dotted with sails, we arrived at a high ground. From here, through the bay, the towering spiers of Auckland's landmark building Skycity and the surrounding buildings are in front of us, which is particularly beautiful against the blue sky and sea. There are benches for tourists to rest on the high ground facing the sea. It is really refreshing to sit on it and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Then Xiaojian took us to another highland, Eden. Park, which is the ruins of a volcano. Although the sunken hilltop is covered with grass, you can still see the traces of the volcanic eruption. From here, we went to MJ Savage Memorial Park, which is close to the famous Mission Bay beach. There is a monument in the middle of the park and the surrounding railings are filled with flowers. Since it is a weekend, there are many residents visiting. After coming down from the mountain, we went to Mission Bay for lunch. There were a lot of people visiting, so it was hard to find a packing spot. There were restaurants one after another along the beach. We chose one and enjoyed the sea view and the happy crowd. After dinner, Bi Xiaojian took us to another memorial park, spiraling up the mountain road, and finally reached the top. There is a tall and simple monument in the middle, and the surrounding walls look like ancient castles. Looking down, we can see a large group of sheep grazing quietly on the hillside. You can see the outline of the entire city in the distance. After coming down from the mountain, we followed Xiaojian to his home. The house was very comfortable and modern, and his two children were very sunny and cute. In the evening, Xiaojian went to the revolving restaurant in the city center for dinner. When we got there, we found out that the reservation was full and we could only eat buffet at another restaurant in the same building. Although it was a bit regretful that we could not overlook the beautiful view of the whole city from the top, the buffet was really good.
