(Contributed by New Oriental Art School) Chinese activities in Arizona have always been rich and colorful. Dance with oriental characteristics is an important part of various Chinese and Western cultural activities. Every year, during China Week, the Chinese Spring Festival Gala, the spring banquets of various Chinese associations, and major fundraising dinners, young dancers from the "New Oriental Art School" can be seen. Each of their performances not only maintains extremely high artistic standards, but also constantly promotes new works and talents, persists in leading Chinese dance out of the Chinese community, and builds an all-round oriental cultural brand. In order to present "Chinese Dance" in a more systematic manner, New Oriental Art School sincerely invites the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University and the Arizona Chinese Overseas Chinese Association, which are dedicated to promoting cultural exchanges between the East and the West, to carefully host the first "Golden Autumn" Chinese Dance Art Festival at the Chandler Art Center on the afternoon of September 14. On behalf of the organizers, Lv Lihua, principal of New Oriental Art School, Xu Zhiping, deputy director of the Confucius Institute, Wang Weizi, president of Hualian, and overseas Chinese leaders in the community all attended the event. Accompanied by exotic drumbeats and cheerful rhythms, the belly dance "Happy Selena" kicked off the dance festival. A dozen graceful dancers in red scarves and yellow costumes instantly lit up the stage. As a beautiful body art, belly dancing creates a warm and cheerful stage atmosphere through the movements of the pelvis, arms, chest and arms. As a form of artistic expression that transcends languages, dance shows different cultural characteristics that do not understand the region.

Han dance "Qinghe in June" brought the audience to Jiangnan, China in June. The green Chinese fans in the hands of the dancers are like the lotus leaves floating on the water, swaying gently in the breeze. The dancers in pink costumes are sometimes graceful lotus-picking girls shuttled in the lotus pond, and sometimes they are dignified lotus flowers. The Chinese fans are ever-changing in the hands of the girls, like gentle ripples in the water, or like a handkerchief used by a girl to hide her face in shame even though she is about to laugh. The picture of "The light breeze shakes the shadow of the lotus, and the blue lotus condenses with blue beads" is vividly displayed on the paper. Quiet, beautiful pastoral scenery, beautiful.

The audience has just experienced soothing and leisure here, and it starts to take people's breath away again there. "Mongolian Dance Group" from Class 8 of New Oriental Art School. All of a sudden, the audience was transported to the vast grassland. Thousands of majestic horses galloped, and goshawks soared in the vast clear sky. In China, the Mongolian people are good at singing and dancing. Mongolian dance is also an important part of Chinese dance. It is characterized by bright rhythm, enthusiasm, novel vocabulary and unique style. The movements mostly involve shaking shoulders and turning wrists to express the cheerfulness, gracefulness and enthusiasm of Mongolian girls. Most of the girls in this class have many years of experience in learning Chinese dance. Their leg skills, waist skills, and arm strength are perfect every inch. Their expressions and demeanor have infected every audience in the audience. Even the American audience stretched out their arms and praised: Perfect!

"Ode to the Red Flag" The dance director of this art festival, Qiu Xiaorong, introduced that dance is an international language that even people with no Eastern background can understand at a glance. The Han dance "Xiaoman" is about a group of Chinese girls who love to dance. It is based on Jiaozhou Yangko and uses traditional round fans to express the subtle and elegant temperament of oriental girls. The purpose of holding this dance festival is to let everyone see people from different regions and ethnic groups in China and their lifestyles. This is only the dance festival’s first attempt. In the future, she hopes to have more exchanges with other American schools in dance forms. Not only can everyone see Chinese dance, but also more local American dances, making the dance festival a grand gathering for friends who love dance.
The Han Chinese Dance "Xiao Man" lasted just two hours, and everyone on and off the stage was reluctant to leave. The young actors' years of hard work, the support of parents, and the diligent cultivation of teachers brought a rich artistic feast to the audience. When the host told everyone to see you again at the "2015 Spring Festival Gala", many American friends took note of this date. We will meet again in February 2015, see you there!
