The 2014 China Week event held a celebration dinner for more than 400 people at Luk Fook Restaurant on the evening of February 9th to celebrate the 28th anniversary of Phoenix Chengdu’s sister city. Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chengdu Municipal Government Li Xudong, "China Week" Committee Chairman Zhu Yihua, and Phoenix Sister City Committee Chairman Liu Ruzhang attended this event.
This year is the 24th China Week event. This China Week event was held in full swing at "Margaret T. Hance Park" in downtown Phoenix from February 7th to 9th. The content included: various cultural performances presented by Chinese and Western people, Chinese talent and calligraphy training that invited American children to participate, introduction to Chinese culture (the four great inventions, ancient costumes, Chinese musical instruments, puppets, maps, ethnic minorities, etc.), traditional puppet shows, and children's playgrounds. The Chengdu sister city artistic performance delegation also brought the atmosphere of hometown to Chinese friends in Phoenix. Thousands of Chinese and American friends participated in activities with Chinese cultural characteristics and experienced the charm of this ancient country with oriental culture.
