Award Ceremony Site
A total of 51 Chinese people and 60 works participated in this exhibition. The jury for the art exhibition is composed of painter Liang Meiyan, secretary-general of the association, calligrapher Dr. Chen Pu, painter Lin Xuan, and association director Mr. Li Mingliang. After observing and discussing all the works, the judges voted to select 9 outstanding art works and 11 outstanding art works. The exhibited paintings have rich themes, bringing together and shining the characteristics of Chinese and Western culture and art. It fully demonstrates the love and admiration of Chinese art by Chinese people in Alberta; it also demonstrates the painting skills and artistic talent of Chinese people in Alberta.
At the award ceremony at the end of the art exhibition that afternoon, Painted with Oil, Chairman of the Association, Lin Feng, first thanked Painted with oil for providing a professional gallery for the Chinese art exhibition in Alberta. He also thanked Sunbird Arizona Chinese Network, Phoenix.com, the Alberta Times, and Modern and Hope Chinese School for providing timely and continuous information dissemination for this art exhibition.
Painter Lin Feng gave a classified review of the main exhibition works, allowing everyone to fully experience the different artistic effects created by different painting materials such as ink painting, watercolor painting, oil painting, and acrylic painting. Art creation should be based on the goals you set, choose art materials with the best expressiveness, from composition design to color application, show your painting skills and creativity, and give people beautiful artistic enjoyment.
Among the strong and heavy Western gallery art, 11-year-old Anya's line drawings of flowers, which won the Outstanding Award, and 11-year-old Huang Meida's line drawings of rural farmhouses and flowing water, have no gorgeous colors, only simple line drawings, as if they are a clear spring and a fresh air flowing in the gallery. The chrysanthemums and pandas in Chinese paintings, the charm and interest of ink and wash, exude the atmosphere of traditional Chinese culture and art. It is really valuable for young people to learn and understand Chinese art and culture. The paintings of Kaitlyn's Cowgirl and Jason's Late Return from the West use rich color contrasts and bold artistic painting strokes to show the gorgeous sunset in the West and the joy of boys and girls in working life. The works have strong artistic appeal.
The sketch of the teal drawn by 15-year-old Rucky is beautiful and accurate in shape, the light and shade and the sense of space in the sketch are perfect, and the depiction of the teal's feathers is as vivid as life. In the landscape sketch of 11-year-old CABDY, the depiction of trees in the foreground is a bit dull and boring. The loose density of leaves, and the handling of distant and close-up painting skills need to be further improved. The line drawing watercolor paintings of ERIC, JUSTIN and several other children under the age of 11 fully demonstrate their learning and understanding of the relationship between perspective and proportion, and they boldly apply it to study and life.
Color pencil painting is loved by primary and secondary school students in the United States. The animal paintings by several children around 15 years old are graceful and lifelike, with subtle details. It fully demonstrates their proficiency in color PENCIL's painting techniques. However, in Wolf's works, the mountains and rocks in the distance are too large, and the colors and brushstrokes are too heavy, so that the theme of the picture cannot be highlighted. Compared with the cowboys and the horses running in the sunset, the figures are too large, which shows that the learning of painting proportions and perspective needs to be further improved in the future.
Painter Lin Feng pointed out that drawing animals with Color pencil is a very interesting way to learn painting, and the effect of its depiction is like a living animal in reality. He reminded art lovers: This kind of painting learning should prevent them from copying photos and weakening their own painting artistic creativity. For this reason, Lin Feng specially showed you the duck stamp paintings of Adam Grimm, a painter who has won the first prize in the National Animal Painting Competition many times. It combines realistic realism and classical art.
Calligrapher Dr. Chen Pu introduced the art of Chinese calligraphy to everyone. He said that the "book" of calligraphy refers to words, writing, and recording. As far as calligraphy is concerned, the main content of writing is literary works. "Dharma" refers to laws and methods. As far as calligraphy is concerned, "law" mainly refers to rules and models. The function of calligraphy is a high-level artistic creation activity and an abstract art form. Calligraphy has run through the course of Chinese culture for thousands of years. In addition to its general practical functions, calligraphy also has a cultivation function. The cultivation of calligraphy includes many aspects such as cultivating the mind and character, cultivating sentiments, cultivating literature and art, and maintaining health. When introducing the appreciation of calligraphy, Dr. Chen Pu told everyone that good calligraphy works can be summarized by the word "zheng", that is, the heart is right, the pen is right, and the posture is right.
Finally, gallery managers Rober, Chen Pu and Lin Feng awarded certificates and prizes to the outstanding and excellent art works and all the authors participating in this art exhibition. What particularly surprised everyone was that the American Painters Association specially purchased a batch of magic calligraphy water stickers from China. They can use water to learn calligraphy and can be used thousands of times. It is convenient and hygienic. Avoiding the difficulty of purchasing ink and rice paper in the United States.
