At 1:00 pm on May 18, nearly 100 great virtues came to the Tzu Chi Phoenix Liaison Office and held a grand Buddha Bathing Ceremony with the theme of "Quiet Meditation, Diligent Practice of the Dharma, and Tzu Chi Sect's Human Path. Those who bathe in the Buddha should sincerely hope that ordinary people in the evil world of five turbidities can use Buddhism to eliminate the ignorance and troubles of all living beings and make them increase their wisdom. After understanding the meaning of Buddha bathing, the Buddha bathing ceremony officially began. Under the leadership of Tzu Chi brothers and sisters, all the great saints clasped their hands and chanted. Amidst the melodious music, everyone lined up in an orderly manner and slowly walked into the Buddha bathing platform to pray for the safety of their families and the world's peace of mind. At about 2:30, the Buddha bathing ceremony came to a successful conclusion. A Buddha from Taiwan makes his first appearance at an event. Senior Sister Cai Citao, head of Tzu Chi’s Phoenix City Liaison Office, told reporters that the Buddha at the Buddha bathing platform was invited back from Taiwan and made his first appearance at a major Tzu Chi event. Many eminent monks took photos as a souvenir. Activity Officer Yang Baochuan planned this event for more than two months, and it was completed with the efforts of all brothers, sisters and volunteers. Tzu Chi is a global charity organization. The Tzu Chi Phoenix Liaison Office distributes food to local citizens with financial difficulties every day, provides one or two free medical examinations to those without insurance every year, and guides citizens to promote concepts such as environmental protection and vegetarianism to maintain health.
