In order to promote global Chinese golf and let overseas Chinese understand and enjoy Chinese golf courses, the "Global Chinese Golf Invitational" jointly organized by Global Chinese Golf Club, the American Pan-Pacific Chamber of Commerce and several golf club groups in North America will be held in Kunming, Yunnan, China from October 15th to October 17th this year. So far, 70 players from North America have signed up to participate, which is the largest number of people who have organized a group to participate in golf in China in the past years.
California Senator Xia Lebo will personally lead the team to participate in this event, and will hold a "China-US Business Forum" with the local business community in Kunming on the 18th to promote information about investing in California. Wang Zhiyi, the famous coach of Oak Valley College in Southern California, and many internationally renowned golf coaches will teach golf enthusiasts free experience and hold youth training lectures on site.
This golf tournament was founded by the Pan Pacific Chamber of Commerce in Southern California in 2010. It was held in Huangshan, China for the first time in November last year. The participants were very enthusiastic and it was called "China's largest international amateur golf tournament" by China Golf Monthly. The 2013 Global Chinese Golf Invitational Tournament will be held at Spring City Golf Club in Kunming, Yunnan, which has beautiful scenery and spring-like weather all year round. This course has been ranked among the top 10 golf courses in Asia for many years in a row. It is divided into "Mountain View" and "Lake View" courses, each with 18 holes. The competition lasts for two days. At that time, Chinese golfers from all over the world will form teams to participate in the event. This competition is divided into team group, individual gross group, individual net group, individual evergreen group, etc., with rich prizes.
Jiang Qiguang, chairman of the Global Chinese Golf Invitational Tournament, said that this tournament attracted a large number of Chinese golf enthusiasts from different regions of the world. It shows that the Chinese people's love for golf is increasing year by year. The purpose of this event is to build a sports bridge, promote the exchange of skills between overseas Chinese sports people around the world and Chinese golf enthusiasts, and make friends through golf. Previous competitions have been professional and challenging, with amateurs with players ranging in level from 70 to 100, and have received great repercussions in the global Chinese golf community. The 2012 competition in Huangshan, China achieved unprecedented success, and CCTV specially sent reporters to cover it. This year's competition moved to Kunming, China, aiming to allow Chinese people around the world to experience the fun of golf in China and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the southwest. This competition is expected to invite 200 Chinese players from all over the world to participate. Players from China come from more than 20 different provinces and cities, making it a golf event where success is expected.
The main golf clubs in Southern California participating in this golf tournament include: Sunshine, Evergreen and Dragon. They will also sponsor young athletes from Yunnan Province to participate in a youth competition at the Dianchi Golf Club in Kunming on the 19th for free. The champion and runner-up can come to the United States for free for a week to receive professional training.
