Although Congress responded quickly to solve the problem of major flight delays caused by budget cuts, for some airports, flight delays may be the norm. Traveler magazine recently selected The top five airports in the United States with the worst flight delays in 2012.

Newark International Airport: According to data from the Department of Transportation, Newark International Airport has the lowest flight on-time performance among 29 major airports in the United States. Nearly 29% of flights are delayed by 15 minutes or more, and only 69% of flights arrive on time. What is gratifying is that this figure is still up 3 percentage points compared with 2011.
