U.S. President Obama delivered his last State of the Union address of this term at a joint session of Congress on Tuesday. In order to fight for re-election, Obama announced in his State of the Union address that the main focus of his re-election campaign is to fight for economic fairness and justice for the middle class and return to American values.
In the State of the Union address, Obama focused on a fair economy, introduced tax cuts, encouraged companies to return jobs to the United States from overseas, and canceled tax incentives for companies that outsource work overseas. He also announced the establishment of a "trade enforcement team" to investigate unfair trade practices in China and other countries. Obama also emphasized the recovery of U.S. manufacturing and the strengthening of local energy production and education. It proposes four pillars of American manufacturing, local energy, labor skills training and American values to construct a blueprint for the sustainable construction and development of the national economy. In his speech, Obama called on American companies to stop moving jobs abroad.
