The 2012 annual election of the Chinese Seniors Association is shocking (Alberta Times) Since the announcement of the election of the Chinese Seniors Association on December 9, most members are full of confidence and look forward to selecting our leaders. They also hope to improve on the basis of previous years. They also hope that all members will work together to turn the annual membership meeting into a united and joyful gathering. This is a rare opportunity that everyone has been waiting for. On the day of the election on Friday (December 9), members were eager to vote and went to the Senior Citizen Association to register very early. Registration did not stop until ten minutes before the election. On that day, there were 240 member registrations, 222 people participated in the election and received votes, and 221 votes were cast. The candidates were recommended by the Standing Committee Advisory Meeting, and the four candidates were approved by the general meeting, and were divided into No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4. No. 1 Zeng Liqing, No. 2 Min Zhongying, No. 3 Hu Qiao, and No. 4 Deng Qingfen. The election was conducted in a step-by-step manner by secret ballot, which is both democratic and fair. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the election, the principle of minority submission is the majority. The person with the highest number of votes is elected as the chairman, and the others are vice-chairmen. The election results are No. 1 Zeng Liqing 81 votes, No. 2 Min Zhongying 27 votes, No. 3 Hu Qiao 7 votes, No. 4 Deng Qingfen 103 votes, and the other 3 votes are invalid. The above election results are legal, with Deng Qingfen as the chairman and the others as vice-chairmen. All our members welcome the birth of the new committee members with joy, hoping to create new ideas, new people, new things, and new styles in the new year, unite all Chinese, and make due contributions to the Chinese Seniors Association.
