2011 ASU Chinese International Students Karaoke Competition: Miao Ying and Music’s Story (Photo) Miao Ying Miao Ying entered ASU to study corporate marketing in 2010. Last year she participated in the ASU Karaoke Competition and achieved second place. This year she is here again! Miao Ying said that participating in the competition again would be the best if she could win a prize, and she would be happy if she didn't win. Because she has had many, many stories with music since she was a child. When she was 8 years old, Miao Ying and her family went to sing at the KTV owned by her uncle. Her father suddenly discovered that her daughter had a good sense of music and intonation. My father was a music lover when he was young and was the lead singer of a band, so the little princess in the family got her inheritance and was quite proud of it. A family who loves music Miao Ying started learning Bel Canto in the third year of junior high school. She has won awards in singing competitions at school, city and province, and now she can sing in Arizona, USA. Amateur life overseas is not as colorful as at home.
