(Contributed by Alberta Hualian) "Phoenix Night" celebrates the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The National Day reception and Mid-Autumn Festival will be held grandly at Arizona State University on September 18, 2011. In order to prepare for this event, Fei Jian, president of the Arizona Overseas Chinese Federation, convened the first preparatory meeting on July 24, and Vice President Dong Bin presided over the meeting. More than 20 representatives from all walks of life participated in this meeting. Chairman Fei Jian first introduced the preparation progress and preliminary activity arrangements of "Phoenix Night" to everyone. The meeting was held in a lively and orderly manner. Everyone spoke freely, brainstormed, and initially sketched out a blueprint for activities to promote Chinese culture and promote Sino-US friendship. At that time, the overseas Chinese community in Arizona will hold a series of related celebration activities, including: Sino-US Cultural Forum, National Day Reception, Mid-Autumn Festival Dance and Youth Painting Exhibition.
