At the spring banquet of Deng Gaomi's office in Nuohuang City, this pair of thick-ink Spring Festival couplets is often hung up. The couplet's font is simple and elegant. The upper couplet comes from the family surnamed Deng, which originated from Dengzhou in Nanyang. The lower couplet shows that the history of the ancestors of the Deng surname and the famous family originated from the famous general Deng Yu of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Deng Gaomi Office The term "Deng Gaomi" originated from Deng Yu, the founding hero of the Eastern Han Dynasty in China. He helped Emperor Guangwu of the Han Dynasty regain the throne from the usurper Wang Mang, and was promoted to the rank of Da Situ (prime minister). Because Deng Yu's home was often "full of guests and close friends", he was named "Gaomihou" by Emperor Guangwu of the Han Dynasty, and his allusion is still used today.
