> Only by not following your heart can you be a master of your heart. If you can be a spiritual teacher, you will find peace and happiness.
Since we can train our minds through meditation and return to the natural state of peace and joy, how do we practice meditation? Here we will introduce a simple and easy meditation that can be done with your eyes open: form meditation. The meditation of form refers to a meditation method that uses vision as an aid to calm the mind. It is one of the conditioned meditation methods.
In the meditation of color, we use the objects we see with our eyes to calm our mind. That is to actively let the eyes and the heart "see" an object together. You can choose any object as the object. The color, shape, quality, quality, etc. of the object are not important. Don't judge it. Just simply let your mind and eyes look at an object. Look naturally with your eyes and don't use too much force. Generally speaking, it is not difficult for the eyes to look at objects, but it is not easy for the mind to keep looking at objects at the same time. After a few seconds, your mind may wander to various other thoughts. It doesn't matter. When you find out, just return your mind to the object you need to look at. There is no need to criticize yourself for wandering, and there is no need to force yourself to concentrate. The wandering of the mind is a natural phenomenon. Just relax and return your mind to the object.
We can try a simple practice: first choose a relaxing posture, straighten your spine and neck, then put down all other things and let your mind relax naturally, and finally choose an object in front of you as the object of this color meditation. Let yourself look at the object in front of you, such as a cup, and at the same time your mind is aware of the cup. Then don't disturb your mind, just keep your eyes and heart looking at the cup. After a short period of time, we may have turned a blind eye to the cup, and our eyes are still staring at the cup, but our minds may be thinking about what we will eat tomorrow, or how good the movie yesterday was, etc. When you realize that your mind has wandered away, just pull your mind back to this cup. After doing this for a few minutes, you can stop looking and let your mind relax naturally for a while, and then continue practicing color meditation for a few more minutes. Hue meditation practice can be done anytime and anywhere every day. It can be practiced multiple times in a short time and is very suitable for busy people in modern society.
What is the difference between meditation on hue and how we usually see things? It lies in our active will. Actively decide to meditate, and follow the meditation method to actively focus your eyes and mind on the form at the same time. By operating actively in this way, the mind consciously exercises "itself." But when we usually look at things, our minds are led by the external environment and we lose our autonomy. This is not meditation.
Meditation requires long-term, patient and continuous practice to see results. Expectation and fear of the effectiveness of meditation are two major obstacles on the road to meditation. The above is a simple practice method of color meditation. There are many different conditioned and unconditioned meditation methods, all with the purpose of stabilizing, becoming familiar with, and controlling one's mind. Due to limited space, we cannot introduce meditation methods in detail here.
