Malaysia has ordered nearly 1,800 fishing boats and about 20,000 fishermen to join the search and rescue of the passenger plane. According to Malaysia's "Star" report on March 10, the Malaysian government recently informed the country that...
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries, said that a total of 1,788 fishing boats from five states, including Kelantan, Malaysia, have been told to report foreign objects encountered while sailing to the Malaysian government, hoping that this action will help find the missing MH370 passenger plane as soon as possible.
Ismail also said: "Although we have professional police and military personnel conducting search and rescue operations, these fishermen have rich experience at sea and know the sea conditions very well. Each fishing boat carries an average of 10 people, so a total of 17,000 to 20,000 fishermen will join the search and rescue operation."
