More than a hundred volunteers started vaccinating service personnel fighting on the front line of the epidemic in December 2020. These volunteers work 10-hour shifts (from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Arizona Asian Alliance (AZAA) donated delicious Chinese meals to 160 volunteers on January 3.
At Chandler Gilbert Community College (2626 E. Pecos Road, Chandler) approximately 140-160 volunteers will be working 10 hours shifts (from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to distribute the vaccination to frontline workers through an effort managed by Dignity Health in collaboration with Chandler Gilbert Community College, Maricopa County Public Health, Chandler Fire/PD, Gilbert Fire, Mesa Fire, and others.
AZAA President Frank Zhang Xudong, Vice President Zhang Chuandong, Directors Deng Ling, Yang Ping and farmer painters participated in the meal delivery event.
Thank you very much to New World Dashalou for giving AZAA a discount and preparing 160 exquisite lunch boxes and 160 spring rolls at 10 a.m. A group of four vehicles with 10 large boxes of lunch drove to Chandler Gilbert Community College, the vaccine distribution site.
Friends who participated in the donation were a little surprised by the army guard at the entrance. There are also police cars blocking the road. Fortunately, the person I contacted specifically said hello to the police first, so he let the four of us in, with the police clearing the way. It feels like entering a field hospital. People who get vaccinated drive in. More than 3,600 people are vaccinated here every day. The Maricopa Health Department is also here to oversee vaccine distribution. Michelle, the Dignity Health staff member who contacted us, started preparations at 5 a.m. I have to work until eight o'clock in the evening before I can close the stall and go back. They work really hard. Thank you to these volunteers for their love, as well as to the medical staff, police and firefighters who are on the front line of the epidemic.
This is a thank you letter from Dignity Health to AZAA.
Thank you and the team at Arizona Asian Alliance for providing a very generous donation of 160 meals the volunteers who will be working the COVID-19 vaccine point of distribution site at Chandler Gilbert Community College at 10:30am on Sunday, January 3rd. Our teams are beyond grateful for this act of kindness and generosity.
