Electronic control system problems Chrysler recalled more than 120,000 vehicles (Alberta Times) Chrysler Group is recalling 127,350 late-model Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300S vehicles in the United States and Canada because of potential problems with electronic stability control and anti-braking systems, U.S. safety regulators said on Monday. Fiat, Chrysler's largest shareholder, said it has not yet seen any accidents, injuries or fires caused by the above problems. The company's report to the Federal Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows that the recall affects 2011-2012 model years, which were all manufactured before December 20, 2011. The document said a fuse in the vehicle's power distribution center could overheat, causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of an accident. Chrysler will fix the problem free of charge. The recall notice will be issued this month. The document said Chrysler discovered the problem when it inspected a police car in Michigan, and later inspected consumer cars and found the same problem. The manufacturer of the system in question is Global Automotive Systems, the filing said. The recall affects an estimated 119,072 vehicles in the United States and 8,274 vehicles in Canada.
