The board of directors vetoed the "new board of directors" motion on January 16, calling for Chinese people to join Hualian and participate in the election. At 2 p.m. on March 27, the Arizona Chinese Federation (Hualian) held an enlarged meeting at Chandler Library. There were nearly twenty people present, most of whom were directors and members of Hualian. At the meeting, Chairman Tao Shicheng announced the board of directors' resolution to the participants. After voting, 10 board members agreed to veto the resolution on January 16 to establish a new board of directors of Hualian. The appointment of the new board of directors is also invalid. According to the association's articles of association, Hualian is preparing for the election of a new board of directors and a new chairman in May. Hualian Vice Chairman Liao Feng read out the basic qualification requirements for Hualian members to the attendees: The purpose of Hualian's association is to spread Chinese culture, serve the Chinese community, support local Chinese schools, organize cultural activities, and promote economic and cultural exchanges between China and Arizona. As long as they respect and support the purpose of Hualian Association, any natural person can apply to join Hualian. Applicants can contact the person in charge of Hualian, Modern Chinese School, Hope Chinese School, and Senior Citizens Association (Chinese Senior Activity Association). The procedure is very simple. After joining the association, you will be eligible to participate in the May election.
