Local families

According to NBC News, the student fell from the 11th floor window of the Orton Hall dormitory building at 10 pm Wednesday night. School spokesman Darin Watkins said the third-grade boy was flown by helicopter to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Watkins said, "It's almost a miracle that he survived, and we hope for the best."

The local newspaper said that the big tree outside the building blocked the student's fall, and he finally landed on the grass. The student was still conscious when emergency personnel arrived.
