East Valley gas prices rose 11 cents a gallon last week, according to the Arizona chapter of the American Automobile Association.
Last Thursday, the average retail price in the East Valley was $3.366, 10.9 cents higher than the previous week. The statewide average price was $3.349, 13.2 cents higher than the previous week. Statewide gas prices were 31.5 cents higher in January than in December.
Gas prices nationwide averaged $3.55 per gallon this week, up 13 cents from the previous week.
As spring approaches and people travel more, demand for gasoline is starting to pick up, the American Automobile Association said.
