Arizona's unemployment rate fell in October Arizona's unemployment rate fell slightly in October, with new job creation increasing across all industries, especially health care, retail and construction. The government reported that the unemployment rate in October was 9.0%, down one percentage point, with an increase of 15,500 nonfarm payrolls. Among them, education and health services added 3,900 job opportunities. This was followed by the trade, transportation and utilities sector, which added 3,000 jobs. The construction industry, which has long suffered from a depressed housing market, grew last month for the second month after September, with 2,300 people gaining jobs.
