Mexican man sentenced to 10 years in prison for illegally re-entering the United States A Mexican man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States and will be deported upon completion of his sentence. Benjamin Lopez-Patino, 45, was sentenced last Wednesday after he pleaded guilty in federal court in Tucson in March after being arrested for smuggling. Patino was convicted of the same crime in 2003 and sentenced to eight years in prison. U.S. Border Patrol agents captured him last September on the Tohono O'Hainian Indian Reservation.
