Wagyu House plans first Arizona restaurant at Chandler Fashion Center

Wagyu House is preparing to enter Arizona with a restaurant planned for 2027 at Chandler Fashion Center. The address is 3111 W. Chandler Blvd., where the concept is set to take over the former Kona Grill space, though an exact opening date has not been announced.

The brand focuses on yakiniku, the Japanese style of tabletop barbecue. Guests cook their own meat at the table under an unlimited service model built around premium beef, including American and Australian full blood Wagyu and Japanese A5 Wagyu.

Wagyu House is part of Chubby Group, the U.S. food and beverage company once known as Chubby Cattle International. Founder David Zhao also oversees brands such as The X Pot, Chubby Cattle, Niku X, and Mikiya, and the company also sells consumer products and distributes premium Wagyu and caviar.

The restaurant currently operates in Atlanta, Chicago, and Houston, with future locations listed for New Jersey, Seattle, and Arizona. In Chandler, the project would add a beef focused Japanese barbecue option to one of the area's main shopping centers.
