There are more and more new Chinese immigrants in North America, especially Southern California, which has a large number of Chinese in the United States and is the first choice for new immigrants. Los Angeles is also a major commercial and cultural center on the West Coast of the United States. The Chinese population exceeds 800,000 and there are more than 100,000 Chinese households. UHF digital TV covers the entire Southern California area with a population of 13 million. This area has become a place of fierce competition for Chinese-language television media. TV stations from mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong have successively landed in Los Angeles, Southern California. In addition to Los Angeles TV (LA18.8), which has been broadcasting from a few hours a day to all day long for more than ten years, UHF free digital TVs that have settled in Los Angeles in recent years include 27.3NEXTTV One TV America, 31.4GDTV Guangdong International America, 31.5 Tianxia TV, 31.7TBWTV World TV, 31.8 Silver TV Digital Station (playing CCTV 4 channel), 31.9 broadcasting CCTV 9 , 31.10 Taishan TV, 57.9 ZWTV Zhongwang TV, 44.6 ICN International Satellite TV, 44.7 Tangren TV.

44.8 ICN International Satellite TV English Channel, 44.9 G&E Global Oriental, 62.2 HTTV Hantian TV, 62.6 Supervision and other 24-hour free digital TV. In the past, overseas Chinese had to install a monthly paid cable TV or a monthly paid satellite TV to watch Chinese-language TV. As more and more Chinese-language TVs are launched in Los Angeles, the overseas Chinese have more choices, which also enriches the diversity of Chinese daily entertainment life. As long as the home has a digital TV or a digital converter box, they can watch these free Chinese-language TV programs at will.

Today, Shandong TV International Channel and American Taishan International Media Group held a press conference in Los Angeles for Taishan TV’s new wireless digital channel 31.4, officially joining the Chinese-language TV broadcast in the Los Angeles area. Taishan TV, as the international channel of Shandong TV, is a provincial-level TV media approved by the State Administration of Radio and Television of China that can be deployed overseas in various ways. It has become an important information platform for Chinese people to understand Shandong and China. It is also a platform for exchanges and interactions between Shandong and the world, and between China and the world. In addition to launching a series of strong columns every day, Taishan TV collects popular programs from various channels of Shandong TV, and also broadcasts self-produced programs in the United States, such as the prime time news column "American Broadcast", the interview column program "American Dialogue", the cross-border interactive program "China-America Zone" and so on. It can be expected that as China's influence in the world continues to strengthen and the number of Chinese immigrants continues to increase, more TV media will land in various parts of the United States to enrich the entertainment life of local overseas Chinese.
