Sina Technology News On the morning of March 20, Beijing time, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced on Monday that they had dispatched a team to Tempe, Arizona, to investigate an accident involving an Uber self-driving car that killed a pedestrian.

NHTSA said in a statement that they are currently "in contact with Uber, Volvo and relevant federal, state and local authorities regarding this incident" and will take appropriate measures. The NTSB stated on Twitter that they would also send a team to investigate the accident.

A driverless car developed by Uber accidentally hit a pedestrian crossing the road. According to foreign media reports citing police sources, the female pedestrian was dead and the cause of the accident was unknown.
