Tempe Youth Program Wins National Multicultural Award (Compiled by this website) The Tempe Multicultural Office was awarded the 2013 Multicultural Award by the local office of the National Joint Council of Cities. The title was awarded March 11 at a national conference in Washington. The project Tempe was awarded is a conversation among teenagers building a better community. This award is given to projects that creatively and effectively enhance multiculturalism. The head of the Tempe Multicultural Office said: "Embrace our differences in the best way to start our dialogue." He said: "Tempe is a progressive city, not only in business, technology and regional issues, but also in diversity and inclusion. I hope these teenagers can recognize the value of people and their differences and continue to serve the city of Tempe." The Tempe Multicultural Office was established in 2002 and is committed to improving equality and inclusion among the community.
