MCSO raids Chantler's restaurant Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies raided a Chantler's restaurant Saturday, taking five people with them in the name of crime suppression and identity theft. Acting on a tip from a tipster, an MCSO spokesperson said their officers raided a restaurant near Ray and Alma School roads Saturday evening. Some restaurant employees used fake identities, and others solicited help from others to obtain legal employment status and Social Security numbers. One of those arrested used the identity of a Gilbert teenager who died in May. Evidence showed that restaurant management knew the identities of these individuals. MCSO arrested four identity thieves and one illegal immigrant. According to the Sheriff's Office, this is the 56th similar case since the identity theft/employer sanctions crackdown began three years ago.
