MCCCD allows undocumented students to use in-state student tuition rates After the Obama administration announced the Temporary Deportation Act in June, thousands of young immigrants who entered the United States illegally as children will not be deported and will be allowed to obtain work visas. In Arizona, Governor Jen Brewer responded in August by signing an executive order that states that Arizona will not issue driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants, will not provide unemployment benefits, and undocumented children will not be entitled to the state's children's health insurance, continuing the fight against undocumented immigrants to the end. Recently, the Maricopa County Community College Board of Trustees announced that in its ten colleges, undocumented immigrant students will enjoy the same tuition rates as in-state students. The current in-state tuition is $76/hour, and the non-resident tuition is $317/hour. There is a huge difference. It is said that this move will benefit 8,000 undocumented students. Currently, only Maricopa County Community College has opened its doors to undocumented students, while other colleges and universities in the state, such as the three state universities, have not responded. In the United States, only 12 states allow illegal immigrants to enjoy in-state tuition.
