Kimberly-Cark's Kotex feminine products tampons, headquartered in Irving, Texas, may be contaminated with bacteria, and the company has decided to recall these products. This batch of feminine tampons (built-in type) called Kotex Natural Balance Security Unscented Tampons Regular Aborbency were distributed to 8 states, including Arizona. They are available at Walmart, Fry’s and Smith’s, in packages of 18 and 36 respectively, with SKU numbers between 15063 and 15068, and production dates of October 29 and November 2. Kimberly-Cark said the bacteria it tested in its tampons tested positive for Enterococcus sakazakii, which can cause vaginal infections, urinary tract infections, pelvic inflammatory disease or other potentially life-threatening infections. Consumers who have purchased this batch of products should stop using them immediately and are welcome to call the Kimberly-Cark Consumer Office at 1-800-335-6839. Anyone using this product and experiencing unusual vaginal discharge, headache, rash, fever, vomiting, or abdominal pain should contact their doctor immediately.
