Kellogg, a well-known American breakfast cereal manufacturer, voluntarily recalled 2.8 million boxes of "Mini-Wheats" cereal with and without frosting on the 11th because there may be small metal fragments in the product. These products come in various sizes and are sold throughout the United States. The names of the recalled products are "Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original" and "Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size", with the words KB, AP or FK printed before or after the "shelf life". The packaging includes single-serve bowls and 70-ounce large cartons. The shelf life is from April 1, 2013 to September 21, 2013. Knorr issued a statement through the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) saying that due to defective manufacturing parts, flexible metal mesh may appear in the above-mentioned products and the parts may fall off. The statement also said: "We understand consumers' concerns and deeply apologize." Consumers can find a complete list of Knorr's recalled products and product barcodes (UPC codes) on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website. If you have any questions and want to contact the company, you can call the toll-free number: 800-962-1413 (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET).
