(Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association Press Release) Recently, Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke ) issued a letter announcing the appointment of Mr. Garry Ong, an overseas Chinese leader in Alberta and chairman of the Chinese Restaurant Association of Alberta, as the Asian Commissioner of the Chandler City Human Relation Commissioner.

The Chandler City Human Relations Committee is composed of representatives from multiple ethnic groups. It is responsible for liaison and communication between various ethnic groups, and reflects the collected information, as well as opinions and suggestions from relevant parties to the city government departments. It also conveys relevant instructions from the city government to eliminate misunderstandings among various ethnic groups and strengthen unity to achieve the purpose of social harmony.

Currently, Mr. Deng Chaoju is the only Asian commissioner representative on the Human Relations Committee. He will take up his duties on May 1, 2021.
