Cien Agaves plans August opening in Chandler

Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila is preparing a Chandler restaurant at 900 N. 54th Street. The Scottsdale based taco and tequila bar will make the site its second Valley location.

Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila plans to open in August at 900 N. 54th Street in Chandler. Owner Roque Jimenez has set the opening window for what will become the restaurant's second Valley location.

The restaurant is part of Backbar Hospitality Management, a locally owned company that supports restaurant concepts across Arizona. Cien Agaves first opened in Scottsdale in 2007 and built its name around tacos, margaritas, and premium agave spirits. Phoenix New Times has recognized the restaurant for Best Happy Hour and Best Tequila Selection.

The kitchen focuses on food made from scratch each day with fresh ingredients. The menu includes traditional Mexican dishes and house items such as the Island Shrimp Taco and Tinga Taco, along with burritos, quesadillas, nachos, taquitos, and family friendly choices.

The bar program includes more than 100 hand selected agave spirits and fresh squeezed margaritas. For Chandler diners, the August opening would bring a Scottsdale born Mexican restaurant and tequila bar to a second site in the metro area.
