It has been four and a half months since gofundme officially raised funds. As a group that cares about the safety of frontline medical and emergency personnel in the epicenter of the epidemic in Alberta, has strong cohesion and performs well, when we saw that the last task on the epidemic donation task list in front of us fell to the end, we knew that this provincial epidemic donation event had entered the final stage. Since the charity donation was officially established on March 18th and announced to the public on March 20th, we have gone through countless twists and turns. We have called, WeChat and email everywhere because we were worried about the source of goods and logistics. Countless long nights and days when we wished we could use two days a day. We have also gained countless moments from our friends who work side by side/donation groups/recipient medical care/media/that make people feel warm/inspired/gain the power to touch people's hearts/that move people to tears. Seeing the medical staff and police officers gratefully accepting the medical protective masks filled with care and love, we know that we have once again built a protective wall for the frontline heroes of Alberta in terms of epidemic prevention and infection protection. At this time, as the provincial epidemic donation activity enters its final curtain, while we are proud of everything you have done, we would also like to summarize this donation activity.

1) Time is of the essence Our Chinese group donated more than $50,000 within 4 days after the gofundme was launched on 3/20! During the current epidemic, time is of the essence, so we should seize every moment and do our best. These 4 days of US$50,000 are the best interpretation of our small Chinese community's great love and dedication to protecting their homeland during the epidemic! We often talk about how we want the world to become a better place. With our selfless giving and wholehearted devotion, our Alberta anti-epidemic team of more than 300 people has truly shown that the world has become a better place due to our efforts today when the epidemic is raging. You are the best! 2) Very loving, very windy, very bumpy, very determined, very rewarding. The most complex and difficult tasks require sustained and selfless effort. We have more than 40 volunteers who have the courage to take on the challenge and work tirelessly day and night. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to complete the task of ordering the first batch of 100,000 medical masks within 5 days of the start of donations. So far. We have purchased 158,000 medical masks to donate to 18 Alberta hospitals, police emergency centers and the Navajo Nation, exceeding our target perfectly. 3) Lizer’s realm and heart of giving to the world. AZ Chinese restaurant, even though its business was so severely affected by the epidemic, still managed to donate $19,200 to the Alberta Guardian Medical Care Foundation. In fact, every time the community is in need, we can see the love and dedication of the Chinese Restaurant Association and Chinese restaurants. Their state of mind and mind to give to all generations are examples for us to learn from [Heart][Heart][Heart][ThumbsUp][ThumbsUp][ThumbsUp] 4) Strong backing behind us. Here I would like to mention that everything we do is inseparable from a non-profit organization: Alberta Hope Chinese School. 70% of our volunteer organizers are from the volunteer team of Hope Chinese School. They have been enthusiastic about public welfare for many years, have strong organizational skills, and are very capable in taking action. Many of them were still finishing the Hubei donation event organized on 1/25 in the first half. Seeing that the epidemic in Alberta was getting worse, they initiated donations to the province as early as 3/15. After discussion, it was felt that cooperation among various groups would be more suitable for the province’s anti-epidemic activities to protect our homeland. So on March 18, the collective, with rich experience in charity donation and full of enthusiasm, immediately formed a new group together with the volunteers of our medical care group, and devoted themselves wholeheartedly to the second half of the province’s medical donation activities. In addition, Hope Chinese School also provides comprehensive support in legal, documentation, and donation fund management. Since the gofundme website has a 90-day deferred withdrawal requirement, Hope Chinese School even directly provided us with a cash loan of US$50,000 so that we could complete the donation of anti-epidemic supplies in time. Without Hope Chinese School, our donation would never have gone so smoothly. Let us all express our gratitude to this low-key but extremely caring and cohesive Hope Chinese School. We love you, hope! 5. Fighting side by side We would also like to thank the Chinese community in Tucson, headed by Fang Fang, for working side by side with us and donating to protect medical care in Alberta during the epidemic. 6. Silently encourage our employers We would also like to thank all employers who have provided matching funds for employee donations. Thank you for encouraging their employees to contribute to community epidemic donations and providing matching funds. 7. Our media team. Finally, we would like to commend our excellent media team for this donation by the Chinese in Alberta. During this time, the Chinese American Covid19 Relief AZ epidemic donation promotion team in Alberta took on the responsibility of reporting on the Chinese and English media. This was an arduous task, especially the English media, which played a role in spreading the vitality of our Chinese Americans throughout our donation process, and how the Chinese Americans gathered great love and supported the positive energy of protecting medical care in the crisis at home. This is a crucial task for us in this donation. Our fundraising started on 3/20, the day we announced it on gofundme. In just a few weeks, our donation activities were reported by local mainstream TV stations and Chinese and English media: more than 20 English radio interviews and other media reports, as well as countless social media reports from major Chinese newspapers. This requires not only strong public relations skills, but also writing skills in Chinese and English, as well as the ability to handle details in implementing various media manuscripts. The ability, workload and hard work are obvious to all of us. Thank you to all the members of our awesome media team for their hard work

Thank you to all the donors and volunteers for your love and efforts. This is truly one of those great examples of making the impossible possible! The Chinese American Covid 19 Relief AZ team is the best! More than 4 months is both long and short. May our never-ending footsteps break through indifference and prejudice, protect everything we need to protect, and stamp a soft and powerful word of love in capital letters on the land where we live! We are making a difference!

We often talk about how we want the world changed for better. It is so fortunate that we have this group of >300 people showcasing the exact what it is. 1) We have donated >$50,000 within 4 days of the gofundme launch, with the extraordinary and heartfelt support from the Chinese American community. 2)We have 40+ volunteers working tirelessly day and night to have the 1st order of 100,000 medical face masks placed within 5 days of donation start. Up to now, we have donated 158,000 medical face masks to more than 20 AZ organizations including 12 hospitals/medical centers, 6 police departments/Fires, 2 nursing homes and two major cities in Navajo Nation. This exceeded our original goal of help to donate to 8 local hospitals. 3) We have a great non-profit organization called Hope (Tempe) Chinese School behind all these. It not only provides volunteer resources made of 70% of our lead organizing volunteers but also supplies us the accounting systems including legal liability support, paper work verification, managing gofundme/PayPal transactions, matching verification. They also lended us $50,000 to enable the facemask ordering before gofundme releases its fund to us ( 90 days fund release period). Without Hope Chinese School’s support, the donation would not be this smooth if not impossible at all.

4) AZ Chinese restaurants who still managed to give out $19,200 even though their business are severely impacted by the pandemic. We saw the great contributions from Chinese Restaurant Association and Chinese restaurants everytime community needs them. Their realm and mind of giving life to all the world are real role model for all of us. 5) Tucson Chinese Community worked together with us to support the same cause.

6) All matching employers who encourage their employees to contribute to the great cause by providing matching funds. No Road is long with good company. 7) Special thanks go to our extraordinary PR team. This year has been certainly a time of much change for everyone. After so many days and nights’ hard work to get the reliable resources for qualified masks and “fast” transportations, we counted our blessings to each connection who can make to enable these. As we reflect on what else we are especially thankful, we keep coming back to our PR team’s unwavering dedication to our precious mission. Your devotion and passion brought best of our ability to make the world better and make us/Chinese American’s contributions known to the people around us and to the world with over 20 English media and enormous Chinese media reports. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a big part of our Chinese American Covid-19 Relief AZ family

Thanks all those who donated and contributed to this great cause! This really is one of the great examples making impossible possible! Great and inspiring teamwork, Chinese American Covid 19 Relief AZ group. We are making a difference!

Our donations are all made through Hope Chinese School. The teachers, directors, and principals of Chinese schools not only work hard on donation activities, but also do a lot of behind-the-scenes work. The accounting team headed by Emily has done a lot of detailed work to ensure that donations are received smoothly, reimbursement items are processed in a timely manner, and the incoming and outgoing accounts are clear.
