reported that since this was Xi Jinping's first public speech after taking over, it was also regarded as his "inaugural speech." The word that appears most frequently in Xi Jinping's speeches is "people", describing "the people as the great people" and "the people as the creators of history." He has twice stated that the Communist Party of China should "serve the people wholeheartedly." He also emphasized that "the people's yearning for a better life" is the goal of the CCP.

In his speech, he also admitted that the CCP "faces many severe challenges" and "there are many problems that need to be solved urgently", and mentioned "problems such as corruption, isolation from the masses, formalism, bureaucracy and other problems that have occurred among some party members and cadres", saying that "they must make great efforts to solve them", and that they must "strictly govern the party" and "effectively solve their own outstanding problems."

The report also said that Xi Jinping’s speech that day did not mention political slogans, and the language he used was very plain and popular. Qian Gang, a scholar at the University of Hong Kong, made a positive evaluation of Xi Jinping's speech, saying that the speech was "very positive", "very cordial" and "very practical".

"It is also worth noting that the historical baggage in his speech is gone. Marxism, Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and Three Represents are all gone. It is not that he intends to give up these things, but as a speech, he does not need to carry such a heavy baggage. Among the political terms I noticed, he only used socialism with Chinese characteristics. He did not talk about other empty and big ones," Qian Gang said.
