Broadway Road and McClintock Drive shooting incident

The picture above shows the crime location

The shooting happened yesterday, Saturday, January 16th at about 3 pm. Jiang Yue, a sophomore at ASU, drove a white Mercedes-Benz car with her boyfriend home from Mekong shopping. Go to McClintock Drive and prepare to turn left. After entering the left turn lane, a Volkswagen driven by a white woman forced a left turn from the straight lane on the right side of the left turn lane and hit a white Mercedes-Benz driven by Jiang Yue that was parked in the left turn lane. After being hit, Jiang Yue's boyfriend got out of the car to check the damage to the vehicle, but found that the white woman who hit their vehicle was holding a gun in the car. So he quickly returned to the car and told his girlfriend to leave quickly. Unexpectedly, during these words, the white woman stepped forward and fired several shots at Jiang Yue in the driver's seat from the window. After being shot, Jiang Yue tried to drive away from the scene. But he lost consciousness a moment later, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash into another Chevrolet sedan carrying a family. The car included a couple, the wife was pregnant, and there were three children in the car. The gunman opened fire and fled the scene.

The ambulance then rushed to the scene and sent Jiang Yue, his boyfriend, and the family in the Chevrolet car to the hospital. Unfortunately, Jiang Yue died of excessive blood loss.

At about 6 o'clock last night, the police arrested the 32-year-old white gunman Holly Davis. According to the preliminary judgment of the police, the woman was suspected of taking drugs. Specific details need to wait for the blood test results to be confirmed.

It is reported that Jiang Yue is a sophomore finance student at ASU. From Chongqing, China.

ASU Chinese Students and Scholars Association has contacted the parents of the victim girl and assisted the Tempe police in handling related matters. Here, ASU-CSSA reminds all overseas students to pay attention to personal safety when going out. Try to avoid traveling alone, especially girls, who should avoid traveling alone at night. If you encounter any difficulty or danger, seek help as soon as possible while ensuring your personal safety.

The case is being processed. Please pay attention to the official WeChat account of the Student Union. More details will be announced later.

May the deceased rest in peace and hope that such a tragedy will not happen again.
