Ascend Orientation Meeting
On August 31st, at 6 pm, the Ascend Club held an event to welcome new members in the MU246 classroom of Arizona State University (ASU). Nearly 40 students from mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea participated in this event, which also made more people aware of a new club that assists the development of Asian students.
> Jeff, the student leader of the Ascend Club, is an Asian and can speak very simple Chinese. He enthusiastically told the new members about the main responsibility of the Ascend Club, which is to help Asian students learn more business communication skills. There are very specific training projects within the club, such as writing resumes, invitation letters, thank you letters, etc. On September 14th, from 6 to 7 pm in the MU246 classroom, there will be an activity of "improving your resume". At the meeting that day, in order to break the reserved communication atmosphere among Asian students, the organizers also came up with small games to give everyone the opportunity to get to know each other. There are also some American students among them. They are all committed to opening up the Asian market in the future and have some experience of studying or living in China. Their addition makes the entire organization more diverse.
>Ascend Club This is a club that cultivates Asian business leadership skills. Their activities include leadership training, job search skills, and network building. The society also provides members with scholarships worth more than $60,000, national business plan competitions, and opportunities to participate in professional industry conferences. Many of the world's top 500 companies are their sponsors.
