Yang Qiwei: Guangzhou is recruiting 964 civil servants this year. The age for graduates with master’s and doctorate degrees has been relaxed to under 40 years old (reported by Yang Qiwei, special correspondent for Guangzhou Times of the Alberta Times). According to the Guangzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau’s “Announcement on the Recruitment of Civil Servants in the 2012 Examination for Government Agencies at County Level and Above in Guangzhou”, this year Guangzhou City plans to recruit 964 civil servants at agencies above county level. The written examination will be held on the morning of June 2. This time, Guangzhou's civil servant recruitment work has provided a total of 670 positions from municipal and district-level agencies, and a total of 964 people have been recruited. Recruitment targets are 2012 fresh graduates from full-time institutions of higher learning and those with a bachelor's degree or above with nationally recognized academic qualifications. Applicants with non-Guangzhou permanent residence (student source) are limited to those with a bachelor's degree or above from a full-time general institution of higher learning and a bachelor's degree or above. Except for the fresh graduates of domestic general colleges and universities in 2012 who must obtain the corresponding graduation certificates and degree certificates before September 30, 2012, other applicants must obtain the corresponding graduation certificates and degree certificates before the date of registration. Returnees who have studied abroad must obtain overseas academic qualifications and degree certification letters from the Ministry of Education’s Overseas Study Service Center, and have certification materials issued by our embassies and consulates abroad before they can apply. Applicants are between 18 and 35 years old (born between May 9, 1976 and May 9, 1994), and the age of fresh master's and doctoral candidates (non-employed) can be relaxed to under 40 years old (that is, born after May 9, 1971). According to the latest announcement of the recruitment position list, as the recruitment of civil servants at all levels has strengthened the selection of people with grassroots work experience, among the many positions in the Guangzhou Civil Service Examination this year, those with more than 2 years of work experience clearly require more than 20% of the total positions. It is clearly required that applicants must have corresponding grassroots and production front-line work experience for at least 2 years. The deadline for calculating grassroots work experience is May 9, 2012.
